I agree, but on the other hand it would make sense from their markting
POV. I wouldn't put it past them to come up with something like this -
if it works on their mobile platforms why not make the step to handle
it the same way on all of their platforms. It's a great way for them
to earn additional $$ from developers swallowing the App Store bait
and would (though I may be mistaken about this) fight piracy at the
same time. They are reportedly losing 1/3 of their AppStore revenue to
piracy it appears...
