I don't recall anything I'd call 'a "scoop" like this,' but they are
pretty sharp, careful and thorough people in the software and newsletter
they publish. For example, last month they did a fairly good analysis
of how '.SoftwareUpdateAtLogout' runs with root privileges without the
user having to enter an admin password under 10.6. This kind of thing
leaves me very reluctant to call them trolls.
I hope Apple staff will be able to clarify what's really going on here...
