I also don't see any reason why your Mac (through the USB interface)
couldn't be seeing multi-channel audio as USB had the bandwidth to
carry it. So, if they've done this right, this is indeed an
interesting product. Thanks for the link
Correct, USB on the MAC supports both Class 1 and Class 2 Audio sub
protocols. Current support is up to 8 channels as there was a small bug
in the OS for more than this. It has been fixed and with Class 2 Audio
devices the next release will support up to 16 channels at 24/192. Above
that the link kind of falls apart. If anyone needs assistence on multi
channel support for hardware, I could point them in the right direction
as I do USB Audio hardware.
