FWIW, I have removed Hear from my system quite a while ago because it
caused all kinds of trouble with crashes and kernel panics. I found
AstoundExpander ( http://www.astoundstereo.com ) to be a better
sounding and far more stable alternative and I didn't have a reason to
reinstall Hear since.
