Issue 1 is different architecture. Not sure if that can be translated on the fly. And I am SURE a lot of plugins would not work since a lot of people do crazy stuff in their plugins.

Issue 2 is maybe in the future the AU specification will have other GUI provisions so people could provide an additional GUI or control surface to another device over wifi.

No one from Apple seems to have picked this up yet. Maybe they're all busy:-)

An AU can already provide multiple AU Views (this has been in the spec since day 1), so there's no reason why you couldn't provide alternate views.
