Apple has just released the new Mac Mini with an HDMI connector and specifically states that it supports Multichannel Audio output. http://www.apple.com/macmini/specs.html

Great....

I'll now be able to connect a Mac to my Home Theatre Amplifier and LCD screen and be able to get full 7.1 high definition uncompressed sound (24 bit 96 KHz) with a single cable.
