Python Module for OS X Core Audio

Is there a Python module to access OS X's core audio? I see that Carbon.Sound listed on the main Python site has very sparse documentation, so I was wondering if there is anything better to use. Also if anyone has a link to some better documentation for Carbon.Sound that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks,
