mSampleTime

When using the Remote IO unit to play sound, the render callback has an AudioTimeStamp.mSampleTime value. Is there any way of getting this value in the main thread? Periodically I need to set a sync point between render callback and gui so that they don't drift apart. I have a working solution by passing mHostTime to the gui thread and the gui thread getting the current "now" time using mach_absolute_time() but it would be simpler and faster if I could just deal with samples not time.
