What is the route of sound in iOS?

Hello
I have an application that plays sound/music via AVAudioPlayer (Cocoa
framework). What is the "path", that the signal takes to reach to the
sound driver of iOS?
At what point could i (if it's possible at all, but i assume there
should be a way :) ) intercept this sound to be able to record it from
another application?
