Interesting. I had some code with a similar behavior -- worked with the stereo mixer unit but silence with multi-channel mixer. Unfortunate, though, as I'd like to use the level metering and volume parameters of the multi-channel mixer.
Anyone care to let us know if kAudioUnitSubType_MultiChannelMixer needs extra care or feeding when being added to a graph?
