kMultiChannelMixer Solo Function Best Practice

Hi all, is there a best practice for building a SOLO function for the kMultiChannelMixer?

I'm developing for iPhone/iPad using RemoteIO an application that will solo channels in a quantized manner if the solo buttons are hold a little bit before the beginning of every beat measure (1/1, 2/1, 3/1 ...) ;
more in general the app is a small sequencer that try to emulate the Ableton Live behaviour for launching clips, but on other kind of parameters, as the loops are already running from the start, minimizing  the human quantization error on Solo/UnSolo-ing actions;

should I use AudioTimeStamp to get the position? Any example of a good way to do it and pass this info to the UI elements?

tnx in advance
