Sorry for the slightly confusing title - I'm actually referring to the Airplay SDK from Ideaworks Labs (link: http://www.airplaysdk.com) rather than Apple's answer to DLNA.
I'm looking at a mobile device project, probably starting out on iOS and moving it to Android and other platforms in the future. I really, really don't want to have to learn Objective C if I can avoid it so something like Airplay which allows cross-platform development in C++ has real serious appeal to me. Unfortunately, a quick look at the API suggests that although they have functionality for loading, playing audio files etc., they don't have the kind of real-time audio streaming that a realtime audio app needs.
My question then for the list - is it possible to use the CoreAudio C++ APIs to create something that can play and manipulate real time generated audio in the context of an iOS application? I guess I need to create some kind of audio unit graph to handle this, would that be the best way to go about things?
Otherwise there is Juce that does this.
