seeing that this question has been asked here a few times before some time ago, I would like to know when we can expect Logic and/or MainStage to support it? I'm aware that supporting midi-filter plugins on channel strips may require some changes in the UI and core of the app, but I believe it would really open up for some nice possibilities that I've been missing now and then such as being able to build polyphonic arpeggiators, drum machines, automatic parameter modulation or even just layering multiple synths to create more varied and modulated sounds.

Logic and MainStage are application products and are not part of CoreAudio. Thus, it's not really going to do any good to ask for new applications here. This list is for discussing the CoreAudio API, which already supports the features you're requesting - any application can provide them.

If you want to request features for Logic Studio applications, then there are appropriate avenues for that. Just use any of the Feedback or Discussion items in the Help menu.
