the presence or absence of plugin latency compensation varies from
host to host, and within the host. as in Logic 8, Ardour 2.X provides
full latency compensation for plugins in tracks, but not in busses.
Mixbus, a commercial derivative of Ardour, provides it within tracks
and mixbusses, but not in utility busses. i am sure there is variation
in other hosts too.
