cool, I must have missed that in the Audio documentation :)

They are consistent with each other. This is what the debugger is
showing for ASBD from both 4.2 and 4.3 simulators. (The file is AMR
5.9). I never did understand exactly why the
kAudioFilePropertyDataFormat call produced these values, but it's been
working fine so far.
