I used a DTS 'token' already for this. They replicated the issue using
iOS 4.3. I was advised to raise 2 bug reports, hardware and simulator.
The hardware one was closed with no reason, the other is open.
I've since heard back from DTS that the AMR codec was dropped in 4.3!!
Documentation says it's still supported. I'm now trying to get some
official confirmation, since there was nothing in the release notes for
4.3. I had a look at opencore-amr but integrating such code looks
beyond my very dated c/c++ skills.
In the meantime my Apps are sinking in popularity, and reviews/ratings.
I had to cancel a marketing campaign and there doesn't seem an end in
sight. This is currently my full time job, and all a bit of a nightmare :(
However, there seems to be a second stream available from the network
camera using G.726. So this is looking like my best route forward.
Also other cameras use this codec, which would be good for supporting
more networks cams in the future.
It sounds like iOS supports ADPCM, unless they also silently chopped
that... I just need to find a way to convert from G.726 into ADPCM. I
thought I'd found some Sun code, but it's tangled up with some LGPL. It
sounds like G.726 is a combination of two older codecs, both of which
might be supported on iOS. Does anyone have any experience with this
before I waste too much time chasing my tail?
