MusicPlayer and timestamps

  • Subject: MusicPlayer and timestamps

I haven't been able to find the exact answer I'm looking for, so my apologies if this question has been covered a million times.

I'm using the MusicPlayer in a sequencer project and I'm trying to schedule some controller change/program change events. I need the events to happen in a very specific order. The precise timing is perhaps not such a big deal, but the order is important, as in some cases a program change must be received before a controller, and so on. The sequencer is sending data over the IAC bus. What I'm wondering is whether events added to a MusicTrack with specific, sequential timestamps are guaranteed to be passed over IAC in their original order? If that is not guaranteed, is there any way to guarantee it?

Thanks in advance,

J.
