For a realistic simulation you will at least need a noise generator,
random clicks and an EQ to make this stuff sound realistic. Run some
vinyl noise through a spectrum analyzer to see what the EQ curve
should look like and simulate that with one or two biquads. rand() is
pretty efficient also so you're not looking at a lot of CPU cycles.
