Ok thanks ;).
For the record, I was asking exactly because I don't agree with you about "Apple's great job" at all. For example, switching from Win32 to Win64 was basically seemless and the 32 executables did work from Win 95 to the newest Win 7 with almost no changes. Mac is a nightmare compared to it. All those deprecated things, one must basically check every new OS version. Porting to Mac64 is something unbelievable - forcing users not only to use a different GUI framework, but also a different language si something that would never happen with Microsoft... Having 3 different GUIs is a funny thing on its own :). I understand that the Carbon situation was awful, but discarding it completely?... well... And now who knows if it won't be removed in some forthcoming OS completely...
Just wanted to express my feelings :)).

Considering that I still build and deploy from 10.4, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm not intimately familiar with whether Apple has started dropping support for 10.5 binaries in 10.6, but they generally do a great job of supporting the previous systems' binaries.

Thanks Brian. It's a little confusing actually :). Anyway I'll change my question - is it safe to just build and deploy with 10.5? I don't need features from 10.6, so it seems reasonable to use just 10.5.
