Don't be misled by the mention of AIFF.  -208 means badFileFormat, i.e. something not understood by the system.  It originally started out as "bad AIFF" but is more generic than that.

Hello,

I have been trying to open some wav files, mono, 24-bit little endian, with QT player
7.6.6 and I get a OSStatus error -208 " (was not type AIFF or was of bad format,corrupt)" . 
error. Those files open ok in QT X. OSX is 10.6.8. Any ideas why this happens and how to fix?
