Oh, I missed the last line about wanting to facilitate iTunes purchasing. I thought you were just interested in the typical metadata (title, artist, etc.).
Way back in the iTunes 2 era, you could use those "search the iTunes store" links (there's a link maker on Apple's site somewhere), and they would open the iTunes app on iOS. Not sure if there's a good way to build such links on the fly, though. Sorry.
