I ended up using 3DMixer and k3DMixerParam_PlaybackRate to control the
pitch. It's just a simple pitch control that also speeds up the music,
but that's ok.
Thanks Tahome for the Dirac info. I might try the LE version, but I
want phase-coherent stereo and that means paying big bucks for the
Studio or Pro version. It's a pity they don't have a
non-commercial-use free license for the Studio. I don't want to spend
thousands on software I'm giving away.
