Hello, first time poster and new to Obj. C programming, so bear with me.
I am creating an application that uses an external contact (throat) microphone which plugs into the headphone jack. I measure the peak and average volume levels from an AudioQueue which works great, except when I reach vocal levels of ~90db (as measured using an SPL meter) both the peak and average values truncate at 1.00.
Is there a way I can reduce the input sensitivity or gain on this external throat microphone (similar to the input volume slider in OS X System Settings - Sound) so that I can differentiate between 90 and 100dBs?
I am currently using AudioQueues, but am happy using any library or code that lets me measure input volume from the external microphone.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I anxiously await your feedback. Chris |
