kAudioUnitSubType_AudioFilePlayer not Sandbox Safe

  • Subject: kAudioUnitSubType_AudioFilePlayer not Sandbox Safe

Hi,

I recently stumbled upon the file player audio unit not being Sandbox safe, preventing us from selling our app in the MacApp store.
I filed a bug report on this, if there is anyone from Apple reading this list, is it worth waiting for an update or should we forget audio unit-based file playback alltogether.

This is really annoying because you would expect that since it is mandatory for an app to be sandboxed in order to be sold on the AppStore, that all the modern APIs would support it.

Has anyone else encountered that problem or is the audio file player audio unit completely obsolete ?

Thanks !

Daniel Tapie
