kAudioUnitSubType_Distortion Goes Silent

Is anybody aware of a bug with kAudioUnitSubType_Distortion ?

I'm aware of the bug that causes the unit to be silent when you bypass it but this is different.

I start the distortion unit playing  and all is well. After about 20 - 30 seconds the unit goes silent.

No errors get reported.

Any ideas?
