iOS and multichannel audio interfaces (via USB)

Hi folks!

I'm wondering, does anyone have any experience working with multi-channel USB audio interfaces on iOS? Documentation seems pretty scarce (big surprise there ;-))

I noticed that Wave Machine Labs' Auria app can purportedly record up to 24 tracks at once, which implies it can be done (unless they're talking about recording the same audio stream to 24 tracks), although I also saw a comment by Anders of Algoriddm on their djay support forum saying that iOS only uses the first 2 channels of a multi-channel device.

So, does anyone know for sure? And if so, how is this likely to be presented to the developer? Will kAudioSessionProperty_CurrentHardwareInputNumberChannels yield a value > 2, perhaps?

Cheers!
Michael
