no reason to be baffled. apple has offered virtually no documentation
on how to host AU plugins, so every host has had to figure it out for
themselves. faced with reports of issues on a host with a name other
than "logic" many plugin developers say "well, it works with logic"
and consider their part done. so congratulations on not taking that
path. but ... frankly, the only way you're likely to resolve this with
a sensible investment of effort is to talk directly to MOTU.
one thing you could try is to run your plugins on an open source host
- if they fail there you can at least do actual, real debugging with
the source code at hand.
