Please help MIDI on IOS is driving me insane!

I am experiencing a great deal of frustration with MIDI on iOS (version 5.0+)

I appears that the only messages that I can successfully send are NOTE ON, NOTE OFF and PITCH WHEEL.

Any other message that I try has no effect yet it does not return an error.

Does anyone know if there is a document that states which messages are implemented in MusicDevice on IOS?

Can any one help me with the following:

Portamento

Poly Pressure

Channel Pressure
