Maybe a better question is, can someone provide a 'bare' project that properly builds? I am completely willing to eyeball the difference and figure it out myself as that is how I got to the 'almost working' state that I have.

I've found recently that auval-validated AU's won't appear in Logic 9.x under 10.7 / 10.8 if they include the new 'AudioComponents' array in their bundles info.plist... try deleting 'AudioComponents' from the plist and see if that 'fixes' the issue.
