Hello,

I'm new to audio programming, and thought it'd be relatively straightforward to write a plugin for iTunes to match the default output device sample rate to the SR of the content being played. (There's a commercial product that does this.)
I started playing with the DefaultOutputUnit example, but whatever I try, the output SR remains at the value I set it at in 'Audio Midi Setup'. I read that it should mirror the settings applied to the input unit (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2170523/coreaudio-audiounitsetproperty-always-fails-to-set-sample-rate) but it doesn't.
Is that information outdated, or am I missing something?

I'm running 10.6.8, on a mid 2011 MBP 13".

Thanks in advance,
René Bertin
