Try a 5000 Hz cosine at 10000 Hz sample rate.

You might also try a frequency that is significantly below Nyquist.

If you look at the values for sine, it is always 0 at Nyquist. sine of 0 degrees is 0, and sine of 180 degrees is also 0.
