Hello,
A user of my iOS music app is reporting that when he uses a USB audio device with his iPad 1 (iPad1,1 running iOS 5.1.1) and my app, the app reports audio error kAudioHardwareIllegalOperationError (1852797029 / 'nope') on AUGraphStart.
Specifically, it happens if the iPad is powered on with the device (in this case, an Apogee Jam) plugged in; if the Apogee Jam is plugged in after the iPad's already on, the problem doesn't occur.
Additionally, using the Alesis IO Dock, apparently the problem occurs intermittently if the Alesis IO Dock's "guitar" switch is switched on - this switch enables audio monitoring on the device. Plugging the IO Dock in after the device is already powered on doesn't appear to help.
I have an Apogee Jam and an iPad 3 on iOS 6.1, and have been unable to reproduce the issue.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be happening, and if there might be a solution?
Many thanks,
Michael
