I think that content sent through the digital output of the airport express or the apple tv fixed (resampled to) 44.1kHz. In that context it is better to stick to that frequency ...

Subject: iTunes sample rate question
Hello,
I'm working through the 'Mastered for iTunes' documentation and tools.
I'm wondering why hi-resolution iTunes files have to use a sample rate of 44.1k ?
That does not seem very 'hi-res' to me.
It's not a limitation in the hardware - 48k is always available. Right?
Anyone?
Thanks
Mark
