I will look into it. I’m hoping a reasonably smooth ride, understanding how
the user-space audio works.
Thank you very much,
W.

AFAIK, JACK continues to work on modern macOS systems. You should know that it
is released under the GPL and LGPL, so you may need to be careful if you intend
to use it or use its code.

I have an application in which I am using Webkit. I’ve been unable to locate a
point where the audio that is playing is exposed for recording.
Ultimately, I would like to tap the audio as provided by Webkit. As it stands,
it appears the only way to achieve that is through a virtual audio cable.
Would anyone have information about how to create a user-space audio driver or
virtual audio cable?
There are commericial applications that would fill in the gap, however I need
my application to be free (not dependant on) of external applications.
If there is an exposure of the audio output for Webkit, that would be
outstanding but so far, I have not found it.
Is there an approved way to make this work?
I looked into IOKit, which has been deprecated and Mojave, as I understand it
may have broken its use.
All ideas are very much welcome.
Thank you,
W.
