Jay,
   Well if multi-filesystem RAID-1's aren't possible under
MacOX X then it certainly has a more limited RAID implementation
than Linux. I have set up RAID-1 mirrors on Fedora Core 2 using
the software RAID support and there is no limit to the number
of filesystems on a given disk that can be RAID-1 mirrored. For
example you can have /boot, /, /var and /home all mirrored
on the same disk with each having its own ext-3 partition.
One would hope that MacOS X's RAID implementation would be at
least as capable.
