Samba Build

Hi:
We are having a problem running samba 5.0.4 and 3.0.5.  So we can either use earlier version or newer versions other that these one.  Any pointer how to get samba compilled/Build and insalled on OSX 10.3.7.
I tried to download from the apple open source the package but I get a printing/cups error if I try with cups disabled, i will get ld error with bin/smbd.
Any idea.
