You probably do have a chronological problem with running samba 5.0.4, but if you "just" need samba 3.0.10 compiled on OS-X/Darwin, feel free to check the "samba3" port in DarwinPorts [1]. It's rather untested but it compiles happily - or at least did last time I checked. You could also just rip my patch [2] and do the installation all by yourself.

Any pointer how to get samba compilled/Build and insalled on OSX 10.3.7. I tried to download from the apple open source the package but I get a printing/cups error if I try with cups disabled, i will get ld error with bin/smbd. Any idea. Thanks Hanna
