Note that these instructions *do not prevent sleep*, which is what Andrew was asking about.

In this case, "not triggering sleep" is equivalent. As long as "sleep: never" works in the control panel then the desired effect is achieved.


BTW, I'm not necessarily an advocate for disabling what I consider to be a useful security feature (forcing sleep upon closing the lid).




From this it seems reasonable to assume that "waking up with the lid closed and an external display attached" is a different case from "don't go to sleep when the lid is closed."
