Building kext for Leopard and Tiger

Hi Folks,
This is an area that i've not delved into before. Hoping someone can help.

Leopard added a new interface that my kext needs to access. But those
interfaces are not needed on Tiger. Is it possible to build a single
kext that will work on both Leopard and Tiger with this situation?

My expectation is that Apple did not expect this interface to require
backwards compatibility because the ReservedUnused locations were not
used. A new virtual function was just added to the interface.

What recommendations are there for handling this situation?

Thanks,

 ...Duane
