the device!
Question: This time when I rebooted the system after installing the
driver it said, updating the boot cache. I did not notice this
message before. Should this always appear when installing a new
driver? Perhaps this will be a clue in the future.
If we are talking about a driver for the PL2303 chipset, then there is
also an open source version of the driver (different code base to the
official driver):
