It does, but its just not enabled by default. Look into ddb.
I think Darwin calls the option "MACH_KDB"
BTW, I'd really like to see the shipped kernel emit a symbolic stack
trace when it crashes, like FreeBSD 5.x will when the
debug.trace_on_panic is set....
