Hello EveryBody,
I am getting a circle with a slash (prohibitory sign)
, and when i boot the system in verbose mode it shows
"Still waiting for root device...."
I tried to Reset the PRAM(options-apple-P-R) and
"mac-boot" ed the system , but it didn't work.
There are 3 partition on my machine out of which 2 are
boot-able partition.
Problem is , when it see in Disk - Utility there are
no partition .
But if I press Option at startup , it shows me two
partiton to boot from (exactly as expected).
Booting from any partition gives me same sign.
I have tried changing the value of boot-device with
every expected value
like
setenv boot-device pci2/ata-6@D/@0:3,\\:tbxi
setenv boot-device pci2/ata-6@D/@0:5,\\:tbxi
but in vain.
here i found what might be the prroblem ....
when i typed
dev /options
.properties
in open firmware , it shows me the the value of
"appl,pci" is 00
can anybody tell me what is "aapl, pci" and how to
modify it?
I am using Panther(10.3.7)/G4 Machines
Any idea...
thanx
