So is it not advisable to make/add your rules in the FireWall
settings ?
I thought to add the rules while installing my app and remove while
unistallation.

Ultimately, the best solution is to turn the stupid thing off. But if
I user thinks they can't live without Blue Widget Goo and you try to
take it from them, they resent you. So we live with a stupid personal
firewall that does nothing to increase the security of the machine.
The only thing it does do is break applications that want to use the
network for legitimate purposes.
