Xen port of XNU kernel

  • Subject: Xen port of XNU kernel

I have started a www.sourceforge.net called XeNU. This project is aimed to creating a XEN port of the XNU kernel used by Mac OS X and OpenDarwin. Though I don't have very much coding experience I thought it would be a great idea to build a working version of Xen on the kernel.

I am thinking the best way to attack this is to write a kernel routine which automatically calles XEN virtualization functions. Next I was thinking about creating multiple KEXT (Kernel Extensions) which load hardware specific devices into the dom0 or domU. Things like processors, device hardware, etc. And finally a Preference Pane to control the XEN kernel which would allow users to activate/deactivate/ sleep hardware.

Can anyone tell me what the best plan of attack would be? or do I pretty much have it?
Any input would be greatly appreciated,
Rick
