Hello kFolks,

This might be a little off-topic........But i fail to understand why Apple does not provide good documentation for the KPIs........

The IO Kit is well documented, but when it comes to using the KPIs for non-IO kit KEXT, it becomes difficult to understand the why-n-what reason the function exist unless we read the source.

We all might argue saying, experts do not need documentation, but then Sun would not have taken the effort to create fantastic documentation, irrespective, where you design-n-code...Kernel or User space......

Amit's book on internals do help in providing the why-n-what of the KPI's, but i feel, it should be Apple kEngineers writing this stuff.

At the end of day, apart from cool features....we want OS X to be an enterprise OS like Solaris....(clean-n-lean-n-layered)

Arvind
