Hello, I would like to apologize if this question was answered/summarized somewhere else before, but if not: How big portion of OS X kernel is open sourced? What all is missing to be able to compile your own kernel in OS X like you can do in GNU/Linux? What is the biggest problem with open-sourcing other parts of kernel? Is it licensing or is there any other reason? I know there has been some discussion before, but I couldn't make clean image of it, so I would be very thankful if someone summed it up.
