Thankz!!!
I've been checking server loads! The problem is not on the server loads, couse lots of times we see the problem, the processor load may be at 30/40%, some times lower, also there is free ram. The logs don't show any errors.
Most of times its when users(any) copy files Inside the server, dragging from one folder to another.
Ill post in the Xserver list! Thankz for your time!!

Hi! I'm having a problem with our Xserve. We have a G5 Xserver(MacRack 3.1) running Tiger(10.4.11) wich has a PPC G5 @2Ghz w/ 5GB's DDR Ram. For storage, three SCSI 290GB's at Raid level 5 (total of one 51Gbs system partition and 700GB storage volume) It's
connected to a full 1000Mbps network of about 20 Macs and 10 PCs, (they are more but these are the ones that use this particular server)
We use it mostly as a fileserver and at night i schedule regular backups
The problem starts when some one starts copying files between folders on the storage volume, or upload files mostly from PCs. At that moment the server gets really slow and all the transfers get almost stopped. We checked RAM, verified disks with the disk
utility and disk permissions and didn't find any problems.
Anyone had this problem before??
Thankz!!!!!

THere could be many reasons for your problem, but the more appropriate list would be the mac-osx-server list which is at email@hidden.
However before you post there I'd suggest some basic trouble shooting including reviewing system logs, determining system loads and processes during the problem, and being able to describe the steps that can be used to reproduce it. Then include any evidence
and information to support the issue you're having. For instance, you mention that files are being copied yet don't describe the user or client who's performing the copy or an example of a command or method that they're using nor source and target descriptors
for the files. Also describe how the PC user is uploading these files. By what methods, etc.
