Why do you need to mount it for debugging?
If you having problems in mounting on 10.9 then mount on 10.10 and copy SYM files to 10.9. You do not need dmg mounted for debug via lldb.
I copied all symbol files and provided lldb a path to it, though I did not have problems with mounting. Actually, I never used mounted dmg for debug as I keep all SYM and script files on system volume.
