From my perspective. It was great that Apple spent all those resources
at FOSE. Compared to a few years ago where we had to beg for resources
to support this show. Having said that...
1) The Apple banner blended into the ceiling color of Dark Grey/Black.
I came down the escalator directly in front of the booth and miss the
booth!!!
2) Apple should have done more to educate the market at FOSE.
a) Education sessions on Mac OS X interoperability with MS Windows
b) Education sessions on Mac OS X RAID or storage solutions
c) Education on OS X as a secure and real operating system
alternative to Windows
d) Education session on OS X security
Most of the federal population does know anything about Apple. They
lost touch long before Steve came back. The booth did not really talk
to those people that don't know the OS X platform capabilities.
3) Apple booth should have Windows machines in it. Interoperability
with the other side is crucial. You have to show how Windows desktop
can access OS X Servers or XServe RAIDS. You have to show Mac
Entourage accessing Exchange Server. You have to should Active
Directory, etc. etc. May be you do, but I didn't see it at the show.
Hope this helps...
Paul
For those that came by the Apple booth at FOSE - what did you think?
Did we have the right products and people there? Was there anything
that you thought should have been there that was not? Anything you
especially liked?
