First, I agree with the "keep it open" suggestions. As a gov't contractor who doesn't have a .mil or .gov email I'd be sorry to see additional obstructions to becoming a member of the list.
But I'd also like to ask a question from a slightly different angle... I would guess that many (most?) of the topics discussed on this list are not necessarily specific to the government but would also pertain to many non-gov't large enterprises. The fact that this list is advertised as "
for Apple Federal & Federal Customers" may discourage some folks from non-gov't entities from joining even though they may have similar issues or innovative solutions that could be shared.
Last summer's WWDC had _enormous_ turn out for most of the enterprise related sessions. So much so that I was turned away from a few because there was no more seating or standing room available. It's definitely an arena that's showing renewed support from Apple and much more interest from customers.
I'm not necessarily suggesting that it would be appropriate or desirable to "transform" this list into an "Apple in the Enterprise" list, but maybe an option would be to have a separate list for discussion of enterprise related topics (that was not advertised as a "Federal" related forum).
